The following officials worked during the 2005-06 NBA season.
The list preserves the referee uniform numbers recorded in the
NBAHoopsOnline historical archive.
The officiating staff included longtime officials such as Dick
Bavetta, Joe Crawford, Jess Kersey, Steve Javie and Dan Crawford,
along with Scott Foster, Tony Brothers, Monty McCutchen, Marc Davis,
Zach Zarba, Ed Malloy and other referees whose careers continued
into later NBA seasons.

About the 2005-06 Officials
The 2005-06 referee roster captures another transitional period in
NBA officiating. Veteran officials including Dick Bavetta, Joe
Crawford, Jess Kersey, Steve Javie, Dan Crawford and Bennett
Salvatore remained part of the staff, while a number of officials
who would become fixtures of later NBA seasons were already
established in the league.
Among those officials were Scott Foster (#48), Tony Brothers (#25),
Monty McCutchen (#13), Marc Davis (#34), Bill Kennedy (#55),
Zach Zarba (#58), Courtney Kirkland (#61) and Ed Malloy (#73).
The season also included Violet Palmer (#12), one of the pioneering
women to officiate NBA games.
The 2005-06 list demonstrates how frequently referee uniform
numbers could change. Phil Robinson appears as #11 after previously
being listed as #70, Jason Phillips is #23, Tony Brown is #30,
Anthony Jordan is #37, David Guthrie is #60, Eli Roe is #64 and
Sean Wright is #65. Maintaining separate season records helps
preserve those changes rather than assigning one number to an
official's entire NBA career.
