NBA Mascot of the Year Winners

A complete history of the NBA Mascot of the Year Award, recognizing the league's top mascot professionals from the award's introduction in 2005 through today.

About the NBA Mascot of the Year Award

The NBA Mascot of the Year Award recognizes the league's top mascot professional. NBA mascots began holding an annual conference in 1997, and the Mascot of the Year honor was introduced in 2005.

Unlike awards such as NBA Most Valuable Player or Rookie of the Year, Mascot of the Year is not selected by media members. The honor is determined within the NBA mascot community and recognizes excellence in entertainment, creativity, fan interaction and the overall work performed by a team's mascot program.

Clutch of the Houston Rockets became the first NBA Mascot of the Year in 2005.
