Las Vegas defeated the Phoenix Mercury 4-0 in the 2025 WNBA Finals.

WNBA Finals MVP: A'ja Wilson

The Las Vegas Aces captured their third championship in four seasons in 2025, adding another title to victories in 2022 and 2023.

The Houston Comets won the first four championships in WNBA history, capturing every league title from 1997 through 2000. Minnesota and Seattle later matched Houston with four championships apiece.

WNBA Championship Notes

Houston Comets: Won the first four championships in league history from 1997 through 2000. Cynthia Cooper was Finals MVP in all four championship seasons.

Minnesota Lynx: Won four championships during a seven-season span from 2011 through 2017.

Seattle Storm: Won championships in 2004, 2010, 2018 and 2020.

Las Vegas Aces: Won three championships in four seasons, capturing the title in 2022, 2023 and 2025.

New York Liberty: Won the franchise's first WNBA championship in 2024 after appearing in the Finals five previous times.

The WNBA Finals format has changed several times. The inaugural 1997 championship was decided by one game. The Finals later became best-of-three, then best-of-five beginning in 2005, and expanded to best-of-seven in 2025.
