60-Win Seasons by NBA Franchise
Winning 60 games in an NBA regular season has traditionally been one
of the clearest signs of an elite team. The Boston Celtics have
recorded more 60-win seasons than any other NBA franchise, followed
by the Los Angeles Lakers.
Franchise totals include previous names and locations. For example,
Seattle SuperSonics seasons are included with the Oklahoma City
Thunder franchise.
Only seasons in which a team actually won at least 60 regular-season
games are counted. Shortened seasons are not converted to an
82-game pace.

60-Win Season Notes
Boston Celtics: Boston leads all NBA franchises with
15 seasons of at least 60 victories. The Celtics most recently reached
the mark with a 61-21 record in 2024-25.
Los Angeles Lakers: The Lakers rank second with 11
60-win seasons. Their most recent came in 2008-09, when they finished
65-17 and won the NBA championship.
San Antonio Spurs: San Antonio recorded its eighth
60-win season in 2025-26, finishing 62-20.
Oklahoma City Thunder: The Thunder franchise has six
60-win seasons when its Seattle SuperSonics history is included. The
Thunder reached 60 wins in both 2024-25 and 2025-26.
Never reached 60 wins: Brooklyn, Charlotte, Denver,
the LA Clippers, Memphis, Minnesota, New Orleans and Toronto have
never won 60 regular-season games in a single NBA season.
