Understanding the Records
The NBA Cup began in 2023 as the NBA In-Season Tournament. Each team
plays four Group Play games during each tournament. Teams that qualify
then advance to the single-elimination Knockout Rounds.
The records below separate Group Play from
Knockout Round results. This makes it possible to
compare teams that have consistently performed well in the group stage
with teams that have made deeper tournament runs.
The championship column lists the number of NBA Cups won by each
franchise. Through the 2025 tournament, the Los Angeles Lakers,
Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks have each won one championship.

Knicks are the only franchises to win the NBA Cup.
Milwaukee has the most Knockout Round victories on the current table
with four. The Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder each have three.
The Lakers, Bucks, Knicks and Orlando Magic are tied for the most
Group Play victories with 10 each. All four teams have identical
10-2 Group Play records through the first three tournaments.
Phoenix has the next-best Group Play total at 9-3, while Oklahoma City
and Boston each have eight Group Play victories.
Six different franchises appeared in the first three NBA Cup
championship games: the Lakers, Pacers, Bucks, Thunder, Knicks and Spurs.
No championship matchup has repeated.
The 2025 Knockout Rounds featured Orlando, Miami, New York, Toronto,
Oklahoma City, Phoenix, San Antonio and the Los Angeles Lakers.
New York defeated Toronto and Orlando before beating San Antonio in
the championship game. San Antonio defeated the Lakers and Oklahoma
City to reach the final.
