United States Basketball League Champions

A complete year-by-year history of United States Basketball League champions from the league's first season in 1985 through its final season in 2007.

USBL Championship History

The United States Basketball League began play in 1985 as a summer professional basketball league. The USBL operated primarily during the NBA offseason and became known as a developmental league for players, coaches and basketball personnel.

In most seasons, the USBL championship was decided by a single championship game following the playoffs. In 1985, 1986 and 1990, however, the regular-season champion was recognized as league champion because no playoffs were held.

The USBL suspended operations in 1989 and again in 2008. The league did not return after the 2008 suspension.
