The 2014 NBA Draft was held on June 26, 2014, at Barclays Center in
Brooklyn, New York. The Cleveland Cavaliers owned the first overall
selection and drafted Kansas forward Andrew Wiggins.
The class eventually produced several NBA All-Stars and one of the
greatest second-round selections in league history. Denver selected
Nikola Jokić with the 41st overall pick, while Joel Embiid, Julius
Randle, Zach LaVine and Wiggins were among the other future All-Stars
selected in the draft.

2014 NBA Draft Notes
No. 1 Pick: Andrew Wiggins was selected first overall
by the Cleveland Cavaliers out of Kansas. His draft rights were later
included in the trade that sent Kevin Love from Minnesota to Cleveland.
No. 3 Pick: Philadelphia selected Joel Embiid out of
Kansas. Injuries delayed his NBA debut until the 2016-17 season, but
Embiid eventually developed into an NBA MVP and one of the premier
centers of his generation.
No. 7 Pick: Julius Randle was selected by the Los
Angeles Lakers after one season at Kentucky and later developed into
an NBA All-Star.
No. 13 Pick: Minnesota selected UCLA guard Zach
LaVine. LaVine later became an NBA All-Star and a two-time Slam Dunk
Contest champion.
No. 41 Pick: Denver's selection of Nikola Jokic became
the defining pick of the draft. Selected in the middle of the second
round, Jokic developed into an NBA champion, Finals MVP and multiple-time
NBA Most Valuable Player.
Several selections changed teams through draft-night trades. The team
column above preserves the teams associated with the selections on the
original NBAHoopsOnline draft list rather than replacing the historical
draft order with the teams that ultimately acquired each player's rights.
