The 2012 NBA Draft produced one of the deeper groups of NBA talent
of its era. Anthony Davis was selected first overall by New Orleans,
while Damian Lillard went sixth to Portland and became the 2012-13
NBA Rookie of the Year. The class also included Bradley Beal,
Andre Drummond, Harrison Barnes, Draymond Green, Khris Middleton,
Jae Crowder, Evan Fournier and several other longtime NBA players.
The second round was particularly productive. Draymond Green was
selected 35th overall, Jae Crowder went 34th and Khris Middleton
was taken 39th. All three eventually became NBA All-Stars or major
contributors to championship teams.
Teams listed below are the teams credited with making each original
draft selection. Several picks were traded on draft night.

2012 NBA Draft Notes
Anthony Davis: The New Orleans Hornets selected Davis
first overall after his national championship season at Kentucky.
He developed into one of the NBA's premier big men and later won an
NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Damian Lillard: Portland selected Lillard sixth
overall out of Weber State. He won Rookie of the Year and developed
into one of the most accomplished players in Trail Blazers history.
Second-round value: The 2012 second round produced
several players whose careers greatly exceeded their draft positions.
Draymond Green was selected 35th, Khris Middleton 39th and Jae Crowder
34th.
Golden State's draft: The Warriors came away with
Harrison Barnes at No. 7, Festus Ezeli at No. 30 and Draymond Green
at No. 35. All three became contributors to Golden State's rise into
an NBA championship team.
Kentucky: National champion Kentucky supplied six
draft picks: Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Terrence Jones,
Marquis Teague, Doron Lamb and Darius Miller. Davis and
Kidd-Gilchrist were the first two players selected.
