NBA 60-Point Triple-Doubles
A 60-point game is rare. A triple-double is difficult. Combining
the two has happened only three times in NBA history.
James Harden became the first player to accomplish the feat in
2018. Luka Dončić joined him in 2022 with the first
60-point, 20-rebound triple-double in league history. Nikola Jokić
then pushed the record one point higher in 2025 with the NBA's
first 61-point triple-double.

Nikola Jokić — 61 Points, 10 Rebounds, 10 Assists
April 1, 2025 — Minnesota Timberwolves 140, Denver Nuggets
139 (2OT)
Nikola Jokić produced the highest-scoring triple-double in NBA
history when he finished with a career-high 61 points, 10 rebounds
and 10 assists against Minnesota. Jokić played nearly 53 minutes
in the double-overtime game and became the first NBA player ever
to record a triple-double while scoring more than 60 points.
Jokić shot 18-for-29 from the field, including 6-for-11 from
three-point range, and made 19 of his 24 free-throw attempts.
He also recorded two steals.
Unlike the previous two 60-point triple-doubles, Jokić's historic
performance came in a loss. Minnesota escaped with a 140-139
double-overtime victory.
Luka Dončić — 60 Points, 21 Rebounds, 10 Assists
December 27, 2022 — Dallas Mavericks 126, New York Knicks
121 (OT)
Luka Dončić recorded one of the most remarkable individual stat
lines in NBA history against the New York Knicks, finishing with
60 points, 21 rebounds and 10 assists.
The performance made Dončić only the second player in NBA history
to record a 60-point triple-double, joining James Harden. More
remarkably, Dončić became the first player in league history to
record at least 60 points, 20 rebounds and 10
assists in the same game.
Dallas trailed by nine points with only 33 seconds remaining in
regulation before completing an improbable comeback. Dončić
intentionally missed a free throw in the closing seconds, recovered
the loose ball after a scramble and scored to force overtime.
Dallas eventually won 126-121.
James Harden — 60 Points, 10 Rebounds, 11 Assists
January 30, 2018 — Houston Rockets 114, Orlando Magic
107
James Harden became the first player in NBA history to record a
60-point triple-double when he scored 60 points with 10 rebounds
and 11 assists against the Orlando Magic.
Harden's 60 points were also a Houston Rockets franchise record at
the time, surpassing the previous single-game mark of 57 points
held by Calvin Murphy.
Harden reached 60 while shooting 19-for-30 from the field,
5-for-14 from three-point range and 17-for-18 from the free-throw
line. He played 46 minutes and accounted for more than half of
Houston's 114 points himself while also creating numerous baskets
with his 11 assists.
For nearly five years, Harden stood alone as the only player in
NBA history with a 60-point triple-double before Dončić joined him
in December 2022.

How Rare Is a 60-Point Triple-Double?
The combination is exceptionally rare because a player must
produce an elite scoring performance while remaining heavily
involved as both a rebounder and passer. Most 60-point games are
built around enormous shooting volume, while triple-doubles
require production across several statistical categories.
Through the 2025-26 NBA season, only
James Harden, Luka Dončić and Nikola Jokić have
recorded a 60-point triple-double in a regular-season NBA game.
Each has done it once.
The progression of the record is also unusual. Harden established
the category at exactly 60 points in 2018. Dončić matched the
scoring total while more than doubling Harden's rebound total in
2022. Jokić finally raised the scoring record to 61 in 2025.
Highest-Scoring Triple-Doubles
Before the first 60-point triple-double, several players had come
close. Russell Westbrook scored 57 points with 13 rebounds and
11 assists against Orlando on March 29, 2017. That performance
briefly stood among the highest-scoring triple-doubles ever before
Harden reached 60 the following season.
The arrival of three separate 60-point triple-doubles between
2018 and 2025 reflects the increasing offensive responsibilities
carried by modern high-usage playmakers. Harden, Dončić and Jokić
have each combined elite scoring with the ability to initiate an
offense and create shots for teammates.
