The United States entered a new era of international basketball in the
1990s with teams built primarily around NBA stars. The legendary 1992
Olympic team became known simply as the Dream Team,
and similarly star-studded American teams followed at the 1994 World
Championship and 1996 Olympic Games.

1992 United States Dream Team
The 1992 United States men's Olympic basketball team featured some of
the greatest players in basketball history. Chuck Daly of the New
Jersey Nets served as head coach.

Dream Team Era
The 1992, 1994 and 1996 United States teams all completed their
respective major international tournaments undefeated. The 1992 and
1996 teams won Olympic gold medals, while the 1994 team won the
World Championship in Toronto.
