The ABA operated for nine seasons from 1967-68 through 1975-76.
Because several franchises relocated or changed names during the
league's existence, playoff appearances below are credited to the

ABA Playoff History Notes
The Indiana Pacers and Kentucky Colonels
are the only team names on this list to appear in the ABA playoffs in
all nine seasons of the league's existence.
Indiana reached the ABA Finals five times and won three championships,
in 1970, 1972 and 1973. Kentucky reached three ABA Finals and won the
1975 championship.
The New York Nets reached three ABA Finals, winning championships in
1974 and 1976. Their 1976 title was the final championship awarded
before the ABA-NBA merger.
Several franchise lineages appear under multiple names. The Denver
Rockets became the Denver Nuggets, the Dallas and Texas Chaparrals
eventually became the San Antonio Spurs, and the Los Angeles Stars
later became the Utah Stars.
