ABA Awards Notes
The ABA operated for nine seasons from 1967-68 through 1975-76.
After the 1975-76 season, four ABA franchises — the Denver Nuggets,
Indiana Pacers, New York Nets and San Antonio Spurs — joined the NBA.
Several seasons featured co-winners. Charlie Scott and Dan Issel
shared Rookie of the Year in 1970-71, Bill Sharman and Joe Belmont
shared Coach of the Year in 1969-70, Babe McCarthy and Joe Mullaney
shared Coach of the Year in 1973-74, and Julius Erving and George
McGinnis shared MVP honors in 1974-75.
