Scoring 100 points in a basketball game is one of the sport's rarest
individual accomplishments. These performances have occurred at
several different levels of basketball and under dramatically
different circumstances.
The most famous remains Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point performance for
the Philadelphia Warriors on March 2, 1962. Chamberlain remains the
only player in NBA history to reach 100 points in a game.

Wilt Chamberlain — 100:
On March 2, 1962, Chamberlain scored 100 points for the Philadelphia
Warriors in a 169-147 victory over the New York Knicks in Hershey,
Pennsylvania. He made 36 field goals and 28 of 32 free throws while
also collecting 25 rebounds. It remains the NBA single-game scoring
record.
John Barber — 188:
Barber scored 188 points for Los Angeles State against the Chapman
College junior varsity on February 16, 1953. The unusual exhibition
was intentionally designed to see how many points Barber could score
when his teammates continually fed him the ball.
Danny Heater — 135:
Heater scored 135 points for Burnsville High School in West Virginia
on January 26, 1960. His performance remains one of the most famous
high school scoring records in American basketball history.
Jack Taylor — 138:
Taylor scored 138 points for Grinnell College against Faith Baptist
Bible on November 20, 2012, establishing the NCAA single-game scoring
record.
Epiphanny Prince — 113:
Prince scored 113 points for Murry Bergtraum High School in a
137-32 victory over Louis Brandeis on February 1, 2006.
Lisa Leslie — 101:
Leslie scored 101 points for Morningside High School in only the
first half against South Torrance in 1990. The game ended at halftime
when South Torrance did not return for the second half.
Wilt Chamberlain's NBA Record
Despite decades of higher-scoring NBA offenses and the introduction
of the three-point line, Wilt Chamberlain remains the only player in
NBA history to score 100 points in a game.
Chamberlain reached the record by scoring 23 points in the first
quarter, 18 in the second, 28 in the third and 31 in the fourth.
He finished with 100 points on 36-of-63 shooting from the field and
28-of-32 shooting from the free-throw line.
The game was not televised, and no complete film is known to exist.
The famous photograph of Chamberlain holding a handwritten "100"
sign became one of the most recognizable images in basketball
history.
