150. Chris Bosh

The second current player to make the list. Bosh entered the NBA in one of the toughest draft classes ever and has been able to excel. He is arguably the greatest player in the history of the Toronto Raptors franchise.

Bosh was a star in high school leading the Dallas based Lincoln High school to a number one ranking in USA today. Unlike many other high school stars Bosh arguably was a better student than a player. After garnering several accolades as a high school player Bosh decided to forgo the NBA draft and play at Georgia Tech University.

Bosh played only one season with the Yellow-jackets before entering the NBA draft. He was selected with the 4th overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft by the Toronto Raptors, one pick ahead of Dwayne Wade and behind Lebron James(#1), Darko Millicic(#2) and Carmelo Anthony(#3).

Bosh struggled at times in his rookie years, because he was forced to play out of position as Antonio Davis started at center. He was however able to garner all-rookie honors.

Bosh improved in his second year but the Raptors continued to struggle. By his third year he established himself as a legit NBA superstar. His points per game jumped to 22 a night, and he made his first all-star team that season. Following the season he was named to the USA Men’s Basketball team to compete in Japan in the 2006 World Basketball Championships.

The 2006-07 season started like the previous three for Bosh and the Raptors. After the first 20 games the team was just 7-13 and looked for yet another losing season, but in mid-December something changed. The Raptors would finish the season 40-22 for a 47-35 season record and make the playoffs for the first time in Bosh’s career. The 47 wins also tied the franchise win mark.

The following season the Raptors struggled some but made the playoffs once again, but lost in the first round. The Raptors would decline following that season and have not had a winning season the past two years.

Bosh now enters free agency and is now seen by many to be ready to leave Toronto for greener pastures. 149                                         Main index                                         #151
