The Greatest Basketball Players in History

NBA enthusiasts will always know the big names of the greatest players that have made history in the NBA, but it is never a bad idea to make a list that puts them all together and remember their strength and best moments. It is a pity that we can not put more of them together, but the list would never end, so we have gathered the top players of all times.

Michael Jordan
Michael Jordan is a true NBA legend that has played 15 NBA seasons. The Chicago Bulls were happy to win 6 championships having him on the team. He was very popular in the 80s and 90s and he is considered to be one of the players who have made the NBA so popular.

Together with Magic Johnson and Larry Bird, he was part of the "Dream Team", the 1992 American Olympic Team that featured professional NBA players. The "Dream Team" is still considered to be one of the best sports teams that ever existed.

LeBron James
Born on the 30th of December 1984, LeBron James is one of the most prolific players that the NBA has ever had and he is still active. He holds the third position when it comes to scored points and holds the first plays for points scored during playoffs.

He is 6 feet and 9 inches tall and due to his playing style, he has been compared to a lot of great players like Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
One of the most renowned basketball players of all time, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was born on the 16th of April, 1947. He played over 20 seasons in the NBA for the Los Angele Lakers and also for the Milwaukee Bucks. He was an NBA Most Valuable Player 6 times and an NBA All-Star for 19 times. When he was in high school, he won 71 games in a row and, after that, he was chosen to play in the NBA.

Shaquille O'Neal
Shaq is currently a sports analyst and many people consider him to be the best player in the history of the NBA. He is one of the heaviest NBA players as well as the tallest, as he is 7.1 feet tall and weighs 325 pounds

He played for the Orlando Magic between 1992 and 1996, for the Los Angeles Lakers between 1996 and 2004, for the Miami Heat between 2004 and 2008, for the Phoenix Suns between 2008 and 2009, for the Cleveland Cavaliers between 2009 and 2010 and, last but not least, for the Boston Celtics until 2011.

Magic Johnson
Magic Johnson was born on the 14th of August, 1956 and he was a prolific player for the Los Angeles Lakers for 13 seasons. After he retired, he was the operations president for the Los Angeles Lakers. He played 905 games in the NBA, a period in which he had a lot of great results that made him one of the best.

He never played for an NBA team other than the Los Angeles Lakers and he wrote an autobiography in 1992.

Larry Bird
Also born in 1956, Larry Bird, besides being a great basketball player, was a coach as well as an executive during his career. He was called "The Hick from French Lick" and he was 3 times NBA Champion, 2 times NBA Finals MVP, 12 times NBA All-Star and the list can go on forever.

As a coach, he was an NBA All-Star game head coach and NBA Coach of the year, both in 1998. In 2012, he was named NBA Executive of the year.

Even if you can't be the greatest basketball player ever, you can still enjoy getting some exercise and perhaps even going out for a ride and some fresh air while also protecting your head with one of the moped helmets on Thescooterist.
