2017-18 NBA Season Preview
After a long off-season, which seen the west once again get stronger at the expense of the east, it is finally time for NBA training camp. With the NBA preseason being shorter this year, most teams will report to camp in the next couple of weeks.
A lot has changed in the last 3 and a half months since the Warriors held up the O'Brien trophy. The Warriors got better. The Cavs swapped all-star point guards with the Celtics. The Celtics added Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward. The Thunder added Paul George. And the Atlanta Hawks 10 year playoff streak looks to be coming to an end.
But who is the odds on favorite to win the NBA title? With updated odds for NBA games skybook says it is the Warriors who once again have the best odds, with the Cavs, Celtics and Rockets a ways behind. But what other predictions can be made about the NBA season?
NBA MVP: Lebron James
With Kyrie Irving being moved to Boston and all the talk about the Warriors, and the Grande Vegas online casino, Lebron James is being overlooked. He will guide the Cavs to the best record in the east and recapture the MVP after a four year hiatus.
NBA Rookie of the year: Donvan Mitchell
With all the focus on Lonzo Ball and Markelle Fultz it is easy to overlook Mitchell who was selected 12th overall by the Jazz. But with the loss of Gordon Hayward the Jazz will need someone to pick up the scoring slack, and Mitchell will do just that.
Team that will make the biggest jump: Minnesota Timberwolves
The Wolves had a fantastic off-season by adding Jimmy Butler, Jeff Teague, and Jamal Crawford to an already very good and very young core. Look for Minnesota to win around 50 games this season.
Team that will have the biggest fall: LA Clippers
Some would say the Bulls, but Chicago will only drop about 10 games in the standings. The Clippers on the other hand will fall massively, especially if Blake Griffin cannot stay healthy. The loss of CP3 will be massive for this team.
