Warriors Overshadow Dominating Performances by Spurs, Raptors

As the NBA season enters the home stretch, the Golden State Warriors have emerged as clear betting favorites to repeat as NBA champions, perched at a short -150 in NBA futures betting at sportsbooks available through BettingSports.com.

Led by reigning MVP Steph Curry, who recent topped the NBA record he set last year for the most three-pointers scored in a season, the Warriors' torrid pace has made them the fastest team ever to reach the 50-win mark in a season, clinching a playoff spot before the end of February.

But while all eyes have been on the Dubs, a number of rival squads have also put together impressive campaigns, that are worthy of attention from both basketball fans and sports bettors who like to wager on America's faster growing sport.

The San Antonio Spurs also cracked the 50-win mark before the end of February, wrapping up the month just 3.5 games back of Golden State in the Western Conference standings.

Were it not for the Warriors' spectacular season, the Spurs would be the team to be the talk of the NBA, after going into the final quarter of the campaign undefeated at home, and riding a regular-season winning streak on home court that dates back almost a full calendar year, and sits at 38 games entering the month of March.

Despite San Antonio's impressive performance, and clear position as the top defensive team in the NBA, they not only trail the Warriors on the NBA championship odds at sportsbooks available through BettingSports.com, but also the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Spurs are a strong +375, but it is LeBron James and the Cavs that are the Warriors' greatest threat, with +300 odds.

The Warriors wrap up February with 42 wins and a slim 2.5-game lead over the Toronto Raptors for top spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

Cleveland has been a standout since just after Christmas, riding three winning streaks of at least five games each, but have been a shaky bet, going a dismal 4-10 against the spread during the month of February, and 3-5 ATS when favored by eight or more points.

Conversely, the Raptors are playing the best basketball in the franchise's 20-year history, on pace to win 55 games and setting team records for their longest-ever win streaks, both overall and on home court.

"We the North " may be gaining in numbers, placing Toronto at a distant 33/1 in NBA championship betting at sportsbooks available through BettingSports.com, and well back of Cleveland in Eastern Conference betting, with the Cavaliers perched at -400 chalk, while the Raptors sit at an ordinary +550.

The front of the basketball betting pack is rounded out by a pair of teams, both with better odds than Toronto, despite disappointing performances in February.

The Oklahoma City Thunder trail the Spurs at +900, while the Los Angeles Clippers remain ahead of Toronto at +2200.
