The arena capacity is shown as the maximum for which the arena ever allowed. For example, the Milwaukee Arena allowed 10,000, the Hawks never sold anywhere near that number and most games only allowed around 4,000 seats.
The Hawks played 12 home games in 1984-85 in New Orleans. This was partially to allow for renovations on the Omni and to explore the New Orleans market.
The Hawks moved back to Alexander Memorial during the time that State Farm Arena was being built.
While playing at the Georgia Dome on March 27, 1998, the Atlanta Hawks set a then-NBA single-game attendance record with 62,046 fans against Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls
