The Omahawks were unique in that they were the only PBLA team that did not have anyone who had previously played in the NBL, ABL or BAA, though Jim Kaeding had been drafted by the BAA's Warriors. Jim Kaeding's grandson, Nate Kaeding, would go on to play professionally in the NFL for the San Diego Chargers.
Rex Barney was also a member of the Brooklyn Dodgers of the MLB and played to stay in shape for the MLB season.
