7. Chuck Chuckovits
Chuckovitz played two seasons in the National Basketball League as a member of the Hammond Ciesar All-Americans and the Toledo Jim White Chevrolets. He received league MVP honors with Toledo during the 1941-42 season after leading the NBL with an 18.5 points per game average
Chuckovitz is an unusual player in that he played in the 39-40 season with Hammond before taking a few years off and re-emerging as a force for one season with Toledo and than once again quit playing basketball.
Not much is know about why he took time off like this, but it was likely because he could make more money working a standard "normal" job than playing basketball.
