Bellingham was crowned playoff champion following the 1947 season, but declined an invite to the world basketball tournament, so Portland went instead.

Bellingham hosted non-league games vs both the Harlem Globetrotter and the BAA's Baltimore Bullets. Marking one of the only times a BAA team traveled west.

The Bellingham Slam of the ABA2000 and IBL have claimed the Fricrests history, despite the Slam not forming until 2005 and the Fricrests last game was in 1948. Portland's Ty Lovelace fights for the ball with Bellingham's Ken Hayes.
